MY STORY

<span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">Meet Kim Shennan

Kim Shennan here, a certified WILDFIT Master coach! 8 years ago I decided to change my relationship with food once and for all.

Picture this: I had just stepped into my 50s, and over the years, a few extra pounds had subtly made themselves at home. Not just that year, but the one before, and the one before that – you catch my drift!

Society might nod and say it’s the norm for a woman my age, but normalcy doesn’t equate to happiness. I yearned to revel in the joy of seeing a vibrant reflection, feeling snug in my clothes, and having the vitality to keep pace with my two spirited grandchildren. 

Life slowly became a little more dim. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy with my life but my weight gain and appearance were always in the back of my mind, clouding my experiences and memories. Colours once bright and vibrant became a little more dull. I wasn’t sleeping very well, but most people don’t, right? And, I suffered from acid reflux, every day. I was on medications that weren’t helping and I was stuck.

I knew that there were foods that were “bad” for me but I had all these habits and “rules” passed along from previous generations ingrained in me. I grew tired of the yo-yo dieting and having to dodge the constant misinformation from the food industry. I didn’t want to spend all of my (very) little free time in a gym hurting my body day after day with no progress. And more importantly, I didn’t want to make the transformation alone. Have you ever felt like this?

Enter WILDFIT – my game-changer. Suddenly I was in a community of like-minded individuals, All of us from different places with very different stories but with one common goal- HEALTH. I learned the psychology behind my relationship with food which allowed me to change how I thought of it in a way that was, frankly, liberating. For the first time in a while, I had hope, the vibrancy came back to my life! And here’s a little secret: I haven’t given up a single thing I didn’t want to. What I’ve gained is something magical – food freedom!

I watched my excess weight melt off; I felt my energy return; I stopped suffering from acid reflux, and I finally started to feel comfortable in my clothes again. Within six months of completing the 90-day challenge, I was buying clothes in a smaller size than I remember ever buying (since I was a teenager, anyway). And the bonus??? My husband followed along with me, which made making changes to our eating habits so much easier, AND he lost a significant amount of weight as well.

I was about halfway through the challenge when I realized I needed to share this with others. Someone out there was losing their vibrancy day by day and if I had the tools to help them why wouldn’t I?

So, I signed up for the coaching certification. And let me tell you, it was not easy… but it was worth it. I mentored under WILDFIT Founder Eric Edmeades and deepened my relationships with other coaches from all over the world. Together we learned, we cried, we celebrated and we grew. Now I want to help you!

This program was so revolutionary in its approach to health that I wanted everyone to know about it! In my career as a Human Resources professional, I have coached, and guided, and provided advice – now I was going to use those skills to actually help people AND on a topic that I had become passionate about. Being a WILDFIT coach has been everything I imagined it to be, and so much more!

I love watching and listening to my clients on day 1 and imagining what they will look like and be saying on day 90. I love the goosebumps I get when a client shares that they have achieved a goal or shares a win that they weren’t even expecting to happen. I love it when clients say that they are so happy they decided to try this program. I know I am having an impact on people’s health, well-being and longevity and that motivates me to keep growing, to keep learning and to keep coaching.
